Abstract

This research aims to determine the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model assisted by audio-visual media in improving activities and learning outcomes for class IV Social Sciences at SDN Mandah, South Lampung. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out through two cycles. Each cycle consists of four main activities, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were fourth grade students at SDN Mandah, South Lampung, with a total of 35 students. This data collection technique is carried out by observation, tests and documentation. Analysis of cognitive learning outcomes uses descriptive analysis techniques presented in percentage form. The results of this research indicate that the use of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model assisted by Audio Visual Media can improve social studies learning outcomes for fourth grade students at SD Negeri Mandah, South Lampung. This can be proven at the pre-cycle stage before being given action using the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model with the help of audio-visual media, students obtained 31.45% classical completeness in the very low or less category. Then in learning in cycle I there was an increase in student learning outcomes who obtained classical completeness of 74.73% in the good category. In cycle II, student learning outcomes increased by obtaining classical completeness of 78.27% in the very high category.
