Abstract

Self-efficacy in students is very important because it involves self-confidence in students' abilities to achieve the desired dream. The problem found in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 14 Bandar Lampung is that there are several students who have low self-efficacy.

The research carried out by the researcher is by using action research techniques of counseling guidance. The subjects in the study were eight students, data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation techniques, and data analysis techniques used qualitative descriptive techniques.

Through the results of the activities carried out in cycle one and cycle two, the researcher obtained an increase in student self-efficacy, the increase was observed through an increase in obtaining scores with a classification in the high category for self-efficacy behavior. Through the results of observations made, the researchers concluded that the rational emotive behavior therapy technique was able to increase students' self-efficacy.
