KETERLIBATAN MILITER DALAM EKONOMI INDONESIA PADA TAHUN 1965-1998

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to knowing the military for a country is very important for the defense and security of the country. The military in Indonesia was originally formed as a government effort to defend the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. Military organizations in Indonesia have changed their names several times and along with the change of names, Indonesian military organizations have undergone changes and expansion of functions. Changes and expansion of functions occurred because the need for human resources at that time was indeed limited, this was also supported by the large number of high-ranking military officers who were considered capable of filling strategic positions outside the military. The expansion of the military's functions in Indonesia was also supported by the government's policy at the time, known as the dual function of the Armed Forces. In the ABRI dual function policy, the military does not only focus on defense and security affairs, the military can also enter into the social, political, cultural and economic affairs of the state.
